Vote for me for senior class Pope, we will have the best communion ever!!!

Odds on the new Pope. What?! Too bad no one can ever be as sweet as The Deuce, a man who referenced Bob Dylan lyrics when talking about Jesus Christ and saw Lou Reed in concert. I can only dream he spent his last days in bed, reading blogs.

Luke Wilson swung through UVa this weekend to screen the new Wilson brothers project. Sources (Mark) say the movie is not very good, but does include TLC's "Waterfalls" as performed by Owen Wilson and Eddie Griffin. Worth seeing just for that? Probably.

Whenever I think of exciting television that speaks to my generation, I think of Al Gore, inventor of the internet. He has teamed up with Google to launch a TV station called Current. The station goes live on August 1, promising to deliver the "TV equivalent of an iPod shuffle." Programming will be short-form, 15-second to five-minute segments, covering everything from fashion to music, videogames, politics and the environment.

Everyone knows that as an 18-34 year old, I have the attention span of a toddler and am distracted by quick editing and shiny objects. But I'm pretty sure that just putting the internet inside of my television has been covered by VH1 lately. Crossing Best Week Ever with every young democrat asshole's political blog and filling it out with Shins videos and Americorps ads sounds really awesome and all, but the iPod Shuffle is for people who hate music, and so I can't help but think this is a terrible fucking idea. When The Most Boring Man Ever is telling me what to watch, I draw the line.

If you want good short-form TV, you will go to channel101.com and watch House of Cosbys and The 'Bu. This is the true future of entertainment. Or, you could read a book.

I'm just kidding, books are for losers. Here are two things, though, that might make you feel slightly less dirty than watching Al Gore destroy America: A real good column about how hard it is to keep up with the kids and their rock and roll these days, which I thought was pretty spot-on (I know you just moused over that link and saw it was from Pitchfork and laughed, but fuck you). Plus, possibly the funniest episode of the best radio show on earth. This American Life will make you a more interesting person, I promise.

tracy- i understand. maybe when i am printing my senior essay 20 seconds before it is due you can also vomit on that! it's a date.

erin- that is terrible. mark was at the after party and apparently they called in all these hot uva girls to surround him all night and also he was pretty stoned. good thing andrew is my favorite wilson brother.

naw dude, you can write your senior essay as pretentiously as you want to without fear of my barf because IT IS NOT A MUSIC REVIEW ON THE INTERNET. you can also print it in a serifed font and give it a clever title.
